In Memory of…

Dianne Kennedy (Rupp)

Dianne Kennedy (Rupp)

Dianne Kennedy Rupp died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at her Three Rivers home. She was  68.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 42013 Eggers Dr., Three Rivers.

Dianne was born April 14, 1950, in Compton,  Calif., the second child of John and Betty Kennedy. While  growing up, her family always had many pets and, early on, Dianne knew she wanted to work with animals.

After attending UC Davis, she returned to Southern California to start her career as an animal health technician. For 35 years, she managed a small animal veterinary practice in Long Beach.

Dianne always loved horses and spent many childhood weekends riding rental horses at the local stables. She was finally able to buy her first quarter horse and started showing him in western and dressage shows.

She later became interested in team roping and took lessons at a training facility at Rancho Mission Viejo in Orange County. She loved the ranch lifestyle and eventually started working for her horse trainer, grooming horses and cleaning saddles. This led Dianne to start her own business: a horse blanket laundry and saddle-cleaning service.

Dianne loved being outdoors and while growing up, her family went on many camping trips to Sequoia National Park and Big Sur.

In 1975, she met Dave Rupp. They were married in 1982. Throughout their life together, they continued to visit Sequoia and Kings Canyon to enjoy the mountains and wildlife that Dianne loved.

Dianne had a generous and kind spirit and made many friends, both in the Long Beach area and in Three Rivers, where her family moved in 2014. She especially enjoyed her many friendships from her Bible study group at First Baptist Church in Three Rivers.

Dianne was dearly loved and is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dave Rupp of Three Rivers; her mother, Betty Kennedy, of Three Rivers; sister Claudia Heath of Three Rivers; uncle and aunt Robert and Mary Lou Wallace; cousin Laura Pierson and husband Craig and children Taylor and Troy; cousin Melinda Keeler and husband Bob; and nephews Jason and Brian Kennedy.

Diane and I were in girl scouts together.  Her family always had so many animals at their house and I loved it.  She had said she wanted to go to UC Davis and work with animals.  I'm glad she was able to do that.

Dianne was an awesome person.  She was in the vetinary field of work and had such a heart for animals. We were fortunate she was a Sr. Vet Tech. for many years at the veterinary office that treated our family pets. Such a caring and knowledgeable person with a great personality. Her life ended to early. Rest in peace, Dianne.
