In Memory of…

Sara Luce (Crockett)

Sara Luce (Crockett)

Sara preferred to go by the name, Sally.

After graduation, from Millikan, Sally attended Long Beach State University for her freshman year.  She then  enrolled at Brigham Young University as a sophomore and majored in Art and Communications. While at BYU, she met David Crockett; they were married in 1971. Sally graduated from BYU with a BA in Communications in 1972. After David’s graduation, the couple moved to Los Alamitos in Southern California. Sally worked for General Telephone as an account representative. Later, the Crocketts moved to Huntington Beach, and Sally enrolled at Western State College of Law. They adopted baby boy Michael in 1979. Sally received her law license to practice in 1981. In 1983, they adopted baby boy Brian. The family eventually moved to the Nellie Gail Ranch area. After her divorce in 1992, Sally continued to work as a bankruptcy lawyer until she tragically lost her life in an auto accident in 1993. Her sons moved to Atlanta, Georgia, with their father shortly thereafter. Sadly, Michael died in an auto accident three years later, at age 16. Sally was an accomplished artist, loved to cook and entertain, and travel. But, above all, she loved being a mother to her cherished sons.

Brian, now 34, lives in the Atlanta area with wife Amanda and daughters Charlotte, 7, and Shelby, 5. Sally’s sister, Anne, lives in Orange, CA, and has recently retired.

Sara went by the name of Sally.  I've been in touch with her sister Anne (class of `70) in recent years; and Anne has provided the above information for us.  Sally and I were good friends in high school and I was also close to her family.  She is dearly missed.
