Donna M. Ruchames (Rogers)

Donna M. Ruchames (Rogers)

Donna Ruchames Rogers April 30, 1950 - June 22, 2011

Donna died at home in Pacifica, CA, suddenly and unexpectedly, after struggling for several years with multiple debilitating ailments. She is survived by Don, her husband of 25+ years; her brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Melinda Ruchames; and her nephews, Benjamin and Nathan Ruchames. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Max and Emma Ruchames.

Born in New York and raised in Long Beach, California, she and her husband had lived in the Bay Area for the last 10 years. She retired from her job as a teaching assistant in the San Bruno School District five years ago. Like her parents, Donna was a strong supporter of social justice causes, and like her father, was an avid Giants fan. She loved walking the promenade along Beach Boulevard and observing the pelicans, sea lions and whales. According to her wishes, her ashes were scattered at sea by the Neptune Society. In memory, contributions may be made to Greenpeace, Inc. or the Alzheimer's Association.
